For first and second year veterinary students

Open to students from each of the 5 Canadian vet schools.

Join us for two days of exploring equine practice through ‘a day in the life’ presentations by equine vets, and wet labs focused on horses.

Funding

Through the generous support of Spotlight sponsors, funding is provided for 6 students to attend from each Canadian veterinary school. Hotel accommodations, travel reimbursement, and lunch on both days is included in registration.

Hotel accommodations: Each school that needs to travel to attend (WCVM, OVC, Montreal, AVC) will be assigned 3 hotel rooms; room occupancy is 2 students per room.

Travel: Reimbursement cheques will be issued to the equine club of each school that needs to travel to attend (WCVM, OVC, Montreal, AVC). Flight reimbursements are based on the cost of 6 students per school (OVC, Montreal, AVC). Round trip driving reimbursements are based on 3 students per vehicle (2 vehicles per school) and are based on set reimbursement amount (WCVM).

Registration

Students must register through the equine club of their vet school. Registration is open to veterinary school first and second year students only, and students who have attended previously are not eligible to attend again. Registration forms will be sent to each equine club in September 2024.
